STORE MEMORIES
Best ways to store memories before you forget them
The memory is here, then it isn’t. These are the ways people try to keep it before a screen is in reach.
01
Notes app when you get back
You get back too late.
02
A voice memo you never open
Stored, not remembered.
03
Saying it once out loud
Gone if nobody writes it down.
05
Say it into the cap as it happens
The memory is stored while you are still in it. Alia files it on iPhone.

How to choose a way to store it
Match the method to what you are trying to keep. A photo keeps a scene. A full sentence keeps a decision, a name, or a promise. A journal at night keeps the part of the day you still remember. None of those replace the line you needed at noon.
The method fails if it asks you to organize before you save. Tags and folders are a second job. One inbox, one sentence, sort later.
If your hands are busy, the method also has to be wearable. A note device you carry on purpose is a real option. So is a cap you were already wearing. Alia, on iPhone, keeps what you said. No subscription.
Questions people ask
What should a stored memory include? The concrete noun, the person if there is one, and what you meant to do with it. Vague notes become mystery notes.
Is night journaling enough? It stores the surviving memories. It does not store the ones that did not survive until night.
How many places should you use? One, until that one is a habit. A second app is how the same day gets split and lost.
